The Creation also known as the beginning: God restores planet earth to a place of habitation and populates it with plants, birds, fish, animals and creeping things. God places man in the garden of Eden, giving Adam a single commandment. After providing Adam with a wife, Eve partakes the fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, and shares it with Adam, and in the process disobeying God's command.
They are as a result driven from the garden of Eden and barred from returning. A curse is placed on man, that of a life of hard labour, suffering, and mortality (aging) ending in death. However a seed (descendant) is promised to rectify the situation and bring back man into enjoying an unbreakable relationship with his Creator.
The earth is also changed as a result of the curse. Wild beasts that were previously friendly or docile towards man are subsequently wild and dangerous. Crops and food is subject to the change of seasons, with chance of plenty or of drought. Disease and other sources of sorrow are there to intrude upon man's life, all to remind him that God has the solution to all his woes if only man will seek his Creator, and try his best to follow God's commands which are passed down to man for his good. |
